Where the edge of nowhere is located

The red flag on the map is where Nome is. You can only get there by airplane or a barge (3-4 months out of the year), and the occasional dog sled. You cannot drive to Nome from any major city in Alaska.  I take a 737-combi jet operated by Alaska Airlines (this is a major airline in the Pacific Northwest) from Anchorage. Nome has three of these flights a day. The combi jet is a 737 that is half for passengers and the other half is for cargo.  I hope this clears up my actual location! Alaska is far away... but Nome is in the bush and literally on the edge of nowhere.

Here is a closer up of the state of AK.  The dotted line you see is the International Date Line.  Sweet stuff right?  Oh and it's 5 degrees there right now. SPRING TIME!!! hahaha (the blue arrow is my current location in Girdwood, AK, the distance between Nome and Girdwood is roughly 530 miles... this is a HUGE state! It fits 3 Texas's in it! WOWZA!)

More to come lovelies!
